So far, all we were fairly certain of was that the Kalpoe brothers and Joran were the last ones to be with Natalee, yet they were walking around free.

And, while all of this was going on, the Aruban government continued to maintain that their island was safe, but safe for whom? It was obviously not safe for Natalee. There were now five men in custody and absolutely no news about Natalee. Rumors were flying about a reported confession and blood being found in the back of a car.
