In general, the 1D model predictions also agree reasonably well with data (not shown). The prediction of side weir flows has a larger discrepancy for low and medium flows (>20%); however, good accuracy is achieved for high flows. From the quasi-steady flow calculations (both 1D/2D model), it is found that the THT flow is controlled by a steep transition downstream of the THT-TCR junction. 5 mPD, about 6–9 m3 /s flow through to downstream before overflow starts. 7 mPD, the increase in flow-through to downstream is estimated to be 2–4 m3 /s for low to medium flows, and 4–7 m3 /s for high flows.
