The pictures are great, lots of them and clear and concise, not to mention they show the item as it should be, in pristine condition. Kurt Busiek writing and George Perez art, great stuff! The market is now 3.6 million comics units behind 2015's pace, which was inflated by a couple of million by Loot Crate. While a comic book will tell a story over many issues, graphic novels more often have their storylines wrapped up in only one or two books.

In part, this is simply because Monte was still making movies through 1950, but that doesn't altogether explain a comics career which seems more substantial than his film career would seem to warrant. Do you diet on comic books (perhaps ‘gorge’ is a better word)? The Best American Comics 2011, edited by Alison Bechdel ( Houghton Mifflin Harcourt; 332 pages; $25). White wrote in his 1941 essay “Once More to the Lake,” “there are days when the restlessness of the tides and the fearful cold of the sea water and the incessant wind which blows across the afternoon and into the evening make me wish for the placidity of a lake in the woods.” White's essay is one of the great pieces of summer writing, blurring the line between childhood and adulthood, and ending with the shivering “chill of death.” Something similar might be said of “This One Summer” (First Second: 320 pp., $17.99 paper) The graphic novel has met with mixed success on film, and the latest adaptation, "V for Vendetta," slashes its way to theaters today - not without some hard feelings on the part of one of its originators, Alan Moore.
